"This year we commemorate the 95th anniversary of Lithuanian independent notariate, founded by laws in 1919. Juozas Vilkutaitis is one of the most appropriate personalities representing the whole Lithuanian notariate in the period between the World War I and World War II. As many notaries of that time, Juozas Vilkutaitis was an active public figure and patriot of this country. He has combined the vocation of lawyer and the talent of writer", Marius Stračkaitis, the president of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, said at the unveiling ceremony.
"Only few portraits of Juozas Vilkutaitis-Keturakis are available these days. The idea behind this plaque was to combine the old photo portrait with modern technology of sculpture", a creator of the plaque, Gediminas Piekuras said.
