Notories honor Keturakis' comedy actress Regina Varnaite

Lithuanian notaries commemorate the 95th anniversary of Lithuanian independent notariate, founded by laws in 1919. On this occasion, the crew of the Kaunas national drama theater has performed a comedy "America in the bath", written by Keturakis more than hundred years ago.

"This year we commemorate the 95th anniversary of Lithuanian independent notariate. Juozas Vilkutaitis is one of the most prominent notaries of the time. In his young years, still during the Russian Empire rule and Lithuanian literature ban period, he wrote a comedy "America in the bath" under the pen-name of Keturakis. For the period of 40 years, this theatrical play is inseparable from the name and talent of actress Regina Varnaite. Today we award her with Keturakis medal marked number one", Marius Stračkaitis, the president of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, said at the award ceremony.

The 145th anniversary of birth of the prominent lawyer, notary, public figure and author, Juozas Vilkutaitis-Keturakis has been commemorated in 2014 by  Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries. Juozas Vilkutaitis worked as a notary in the town of Prienai in 1924-1939.
