People are also increasingly confident about police, bar association and State Security Department, which ranks 4th this year for the first time.
Tendency that people are most confident of notaries exists for the last 12 years, since the first such poll was conducted.
Respondents were asked to rank eight legal professions as well as Ministry of Justice in terms of confidence.
Sixty nine per cent of people are confident of notaries, 3 per cent mistrust them. In comparison to 2016, the confidence in notaries went up 6 points. Police has a confidence of 65 per cent (10 per cent mistrust). Bar association has a trust of 46 per cent.
Thirty seven per cent of repondents show confidence in State Security Department and anti-corruption Special Investigation Service each. 33 per cent trust in Ministry of Justice, 32 per cent are confident in prosecutors and judges each. Bailiffs are at the bottom of the rating having only 22 per cent of people's trust.
The poll was commissioned by the Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries. One thousand respondents, 18-year-old and senior, were questioned by "Vilmorus" in 21 city and 26 villages during the period between 6 and 15 October, 2017.
