Lithuanian notaries join international Safe Notary Seal initiative

"Safe Notary Seal is a special attachable uniquely numbered mark which cannot be removed from the document without destrying it. Such means of protection are no longer relevant to Lithuania, where a network of developed electronic registries and data bases enables notaries to verify and authenticate notarial documents instantly. However, the technologies in some states are not advanced enough, therefore notarial documents require additional measures of protection", Mr. Marius Stračkaitis, the President of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries, said.

The SNS is attached by notary to th document intended for movement between the states. Another notary, bank or any other recipient of the document has an opportunity to verify the SNS unique number and letter code by logging on the website www.uinlsns.com, where information about notary, who issued the document, is available. 

The Safe Notary Seal may also by scanned with the smart phone or tablet PC which has the QR Code reading application installed.
