International experts from Germany and Lithuania payed a visit to Tajikistan, a Middle Asian state which considers the possibility of notarial reform.
The President of Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries Marius Stračkaitis and the Vice President of German Federal Chamber of Notaries Richard Bock visited Tajikistan on November 5-7, 2018. Both experts are members of International Union of Notaries (UINL) International Commission on Notarial Co-operation, which oversees the processes of notarial reforms in the world.
Representatives of Lithuania and Germany had meetings with the Minister of Justice of Tajikistan Mr. Shohmurod Rustam and the Vice Minister of Justice Mrs Nodiri Shahnoza. The Minister stressed the importance of future reforms and transformation of the state-run notariat towards the private, independent one, based on the principles of Latin notariat.
M.Stračkaitis and R. Bock visited several notary offices in the capital Dushanbe, as well as cities of Tursunzoda and Hissar, and attended seminar with local notaries.
There are 128 notaries, all of them state employees, in Tajikistan, a country with population of 8,8 million.
