German notaries: "High quality notariat" is functioning in Lithuania

Delegation of German Federal Chamber of Notaries met Lithuania’s Government officials and members of legislature during visit to Vilnius on March 21.

The delegation, headed by President of German Federal Chamber of Notaries, Dr. Jens Bormann, met Vice Minister of Justice Žydrūnas Plytnikas and Deputy Chairman of Committee on Law Dr. Stasys Šedbaras.

The meetings were dedicated to discussions on notarial activities in Lithuania as well as arrangements of notarial work in Germany.

Dr. Bormann stressed that Lithuanian system of notariat is based on German model and is “high quality”, therefore any possible legislative reforms which could affect notaries should be consistent and well-designed.

Delegation of German notaries also met counterparts from Lithuanian Chamber of Notaries.
