Notarial archives kept at Iron Mountain warehouses equal to 69 Vilnius TV towers

Notaries ensure legality in civil relations, therefore the documents they certify are very responsibly kept.

Wills/testaments must be kept for 100 years, real estate, mortgage transactions, marriage contracts, inheritance files for 75 years, contracts for the establishment of legal persons for 25 years, movable property, unilateral transactions, etc. for 10 years, and powers of attorney for 10 years after the expiry of the term of the power.

A significant part of notarial archives is stored in the warehouses of Iron Mountain Lietuva. At present, 8.5 linear kilometres of archives of notaries who have completed their mandate and more than 14 linear kilometres of archives of notaries who are working are stored there - in total more than 22.5 linear kilometres.

If these documents were stacked vertically, the stacks would be equivalent to the 69 Vilnius TV towers, and the height of this symbol of the capital is 326 metres.
